Michael Walker, B.Ost
Lead Practitioner, Osteopath

cropped mugshotMichael Walker B.Ost, is a registered Osteopath with the General Osteopath Council and member of the Institute of Osteopaths.  Michael graduated as a Bachelor of Osteopathy from the British School of Osteopathy (regarded as the most prestigious Osteopathic College in Europe).

Michael is the Lead Practitioner at his surgeries in Cheam, Selsdon and Worcester Park.

Michael specialises in the treatment of:-

Back and neck pain
Shockwave Therapy
Shoulder problems
Trapped nerves
Foot biomechanics

He also specialises in the production of prescription orthotics, using a state of the art Gait Scanner.

Juliette Habgood, M.Ost, BSc (Hons)
Associate Practitioner, Osteopath
Cheam, Selsdon and Worcester Park
juliette-picJuliette trained at the British School of Osteopathy, London, graduating with a Masters of Osteopathy. She is a Structural Osteopath and treats a wide range of problems, working with people of all ages as well as children and pregnant women.

Juliette has also completed courses in cranial, visceral and obstetrics osteopathy which she uses to treat children as well as adults.

Before studying to become an osteopath, she completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise science at UWIC. The knowledge gained from this degree has helped give her extra insight into the treatment of sports-related injuries. A keen athlete, Juliette competes in national-level trampolining and ranked as Women’s Elite South East Regional Champion for two consecutive years.

Juliette also, when appropriate, uses medical acupuncture, which involves inserting fine needles into trigger points in the muscles.

George Russell, M.Ost

George gained a Master’s degree in Osteopathy from the University College of Osteopathy (formerly BSO) – one of the largest and most prestigious osteopathic schools in Europe, where for the last two years he has worked in a busy clinic treating patients with a variety of conditions.

He has also spent time working in several specialist clinics treating the elderly, children, the homeless and patients suffering with chronic pain; he has also worked in a busy GP surgery.

His approach to treatment is to adopt a holistic approach when dealing with his patients in order to treat not only the immediate pain, but also the root cause, helping to restore the body to its optimum state of health.

With over ten years’ experience in the bike industry, as well as being an avid cyclist himself, George has a keen interest in sporting injury rehabilitation. His osteopathic experience, combined with rehabilitation of his own personal injuries inspired his passion and commitment to helping his patients overcome injury, as well as, advising them on all aspects of sports well-being.

George specialises in the treatment of:-

Melissa D'Sa, M.Ost

Melissa graduated from the University College of Osteopathy (Formally known as the British School of Osteopathy).

Since then she has gained experience working in a variety of settings, from treating players courtside at competitive Badminton tournaments to staff members cooperate offices.

Melissa adopts a holistic approach to treatment, taking into account the presenting symptoms as well as identifying the cause of dysfunction.

Melissa has completed her Level 3 Sports Massage, dry needling, rock blading, kinesio/ sports taping courses which she incorporates into treatment where appropriate.

Lauren Walker
Exercise Professional,
Cheam

Lauren is our Exercise Professional here at Avenue Health. She is a Level 4 Exercise Specialist with REPs (The Register of Exercise Professionals) specialising in Cardiac Rehabilitation (Cardiac Disease), Pulmonary Rehabilitation (Chronic Respiratory Disease), Pilates and GP/Exercise Referral. Lauren is also a qualified Fitness Pilates and Gym Instructor who is able to provide Nutrition advice for Physical Activity.

Lauren graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and History, but a lifelong interest in dance propelled her in a different direction. Lauren started dancing at age 2½, and having always held a keen interest in health and fitness decided to teach adult dance and exercise classes. In 2002, Lauren made the change full time; building a very successful dance and fitness business that incorporates all aspects of health & fitness.

Jo Walker, B.Ost

Jo graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a Bachelors in Osteopathy. She is a member of the General Osteopathic Council, and is registered with the Institute of Osteopaths.

Jo is a structural osteopath and uses a variety of methods to treat her patients, including soft tissue, manipulation, shockwave, ultrasound and the G5 massage machine.

Jo is a dog lover and she will often be found going running in the local parks or Surrey countryside with her dog.

Georgina Bonnici, M.Ost

Georgina graduated from the British School of Osteopathy (regarded as the most prestigious Osteopathic College in Europe) with a Masters of Osteopathy. She is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council. She has also trained in Sports massage and medical acupuncture and incorporates these skills into her treatment where appropriate.

Georgina is mainly a structural osteopath but has also done some courses in visceral and obstetric osteopathy which she hopes to do further study in.

Joss Barratt, M.Ost

Joss Barratt M.Ost, with a background in climbing and surfing, he has developed a specific interest in hand/wrist and forearm injuries as well as sporting injuries from previous experience as a sports massage therapist.However, he enjoys treating the full range of injuries, aches and pains that patients present with in clinic.

Joss is currently undertaking a post-graduate qualification this year in Paediatric Osteopathy to extend his experience and knowledge in the area. Osteopaths are trained to screen for medical conditions and will tell you if you need to see another health care professional such as your doctor or midwife.

Osteopathic techniques are appropriate for children at all stages of development. Gentle manipulation could help soothe and relax your baby. Joss can assess your child to see what might help.

Friendly, sympathetic and supportive coupled with a structural approach and knowledge of rehabilitation movements and exercises, helps patients get back to what they want to be doing as quickly as possible.

Danilo Batista, B.Ost (Hons)

Danilo has developed a long passion for Natural Health care. With 17 years of clinical experience in various body and mind health disciplines such as therapeutic massage, sports massage, injury rehabilitation, medical acupuncture, Zen shiatsu, kinesiology and nutrition. He also trained as a yoga teacher then later he graduated with a Bachelor (Hons) at the College of Osteopaths in London.

Danilo is friendly and caring, and known as a family Osteopath with a holistic approach in addressing musculoskeletal problems, treating patients from various ages and all walks of life.

Among his patients are; young athletes, desk workers with related back pains, marathon runners, the elderly for chronic pains relief, and helping women through pregnancy to alleviate postural aches during natural body changes.

Danilo focuses on bespoke treatments that are in line with each patient’s age, condition and lifestyle in order to improve their quality of life and well-being.

To promote a successful recovery he often prescribes therapeutic exercises to improve your condition, good posture and advice on general health.

To support my clinical practice on a daily basis, I keep a record of current updates and research, and training by attending CPD seminars and postgraduate courses.
