Chiropractic and how it works

Chiropractic is the primary health care profession that addresses pain resulting from misalignment of the bones and joints.  These misalignments can cause problems with the musculoskeletal and nervous system.  Our McTimoney Chiropractors treat neuro-musculoskeletal complaints and the effects these disorders can have on health.

These conditions can commonly result from:-

• Poor posture
• Falling
• Lifting heavy objects
• Trauma (sports or road traffic accidents)
• Stress of modern living

The chiropractor adjusts the position of the bones into the correct skeletal alignment and by doing this, improves the efficiency of the nervous system. This restores the body to its normal range of movement and relieves pain. Although chiropractors are well known for treating backs and necks, they also treat more physical conditions including sports injures, headaches, sprains and tendonitis.

McTimoney Chiropractic

This system of treatment was developed by John McTimoney and has been used for over 50 years. The McTimoney method is a more gentle approach to treatment than conventional chiropractic. McTimoney chiropractors have a whole body approach to treatment and aim for treating the whole person, and not just focusing on the area of pain.
McTimoney chiropractors gently and accurately adjust misaligned joints in your body.

Due to the gentle nature of McTimoney Chiropractic, it is the treatment of choice for people at all stages of their life, from childhood to old age.

Is McTimoney Chiropractic the right treatment for me?

This form of treatment has been proven as an effective solution for the treatment of:-

• Back and neck complaints
